These are finishes that I have done since 1999
See anything that isnt real? The ceiling moulding is flat stock and has been tromp'e l'oiel ed  to look grooved and distressed... also the cherry stained chair rail going up the steps is tromp'e l'oiel ed  too. Fooled you didnt I. Also patterned decorations were invented for the spaces above the openings (Check out the captions to the left of each picture below for technique explainations)

THIS IS SIMILAR TO WHAT WAS USED AT THE GULF VEIW RESORT click the picture to see that!
This job turned out exquisitly, mainly because the owner did not have to renovate the space to have me transform it into something that is classic and enduring. The whole job cost the client(who was a painting contractor) 800.oo dollars. The owner was charged more and felt it was a steal.
This room is made of nothing special... water resistant drywall board and cheap laminates that had to be primed and painted
I cheated on the wood graining of the plywood floor too...by graining the entire panels first, then taping off the decorative pattern (which I stole from a parkay furniture piece )and simply painting transparent colors over the existing grain.....not as good as changing the direction of the grain; but everyone loves it anyways.
SIMPLE PAINTED FURNITURE WITH PATTENT LEATHER FAUX ON THE PANELS total cost 550.oo dollars
I bought this bedframe from the Sherrif's Youth Ranch Thrift Store for 25.oo dollars because it was going to look better after faux finishing than the bed the customer already had. A solid maple, used piece ,repainted is better than the modern-day junk anyday.
this is a simple wash; it took 45 minutes to color the entire space
Preparing the wall ahead of time was the real bugger. I used plaster of paris on gause to make random defects on the walls, as if the walls were replastered but not sanded down or smoothed out. However, I did smooth out some of the wall before messing it up again. The bonding agent that went over the original oatmeal colored primer combined with the absorbant plaster made for interesting variances in the wash; so did the crack in the wall which I left for effect.THE GRISSELLE IMAGERY(SEEN IN THE MIRROR'S REFLECTION) WAS PAINSTAKINGLY HAND PAINTED ....AND IT IS THE MAIN INTEREST OF THE WHOLE PLACE'S AMBIANCE.

THIS IS MORE OF THE FAUX FINISH from the Gulveiw Resort LIKE THE TOP PICTURE ABOVE(CLICK ON Captain Tony TO LINK TO THE RESTAURANTS WEBSITE)

This is the Hemminway Room at the Gulfveiw Resort. It is done in a combing technique.
